Colin has worked at Abbey Dental Care since taking over the practice, with focus on providing care and treatment for the patients privately and under the practice care plan (DPAS). He particularly enjoys learning new techniques to get the best smile he can for his patients.

He graduated from University of Glasgow in 2003, where he studied with Hazel, the other Practice Owner. After graduation he went on work in Perthshire, before returning to Glasgow to work as an associate in Bishopbriggs for over seven years.

Hazel works in general dentistry, on surgical procedures and also provides sedation for the practice to help people with dental anxiety cope with treatment. She has worked for many years in oral surgery and particularly enjoys the more challenging cases.

Hazel qualified from Glasgow University in 2003 and went on to gain her Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons in 2005. She worked in Tarbert, Loch Fyne for a year, then went on to work in Community Dental Service, followed by hospital dental work in both the Southern General and Crosshouse Hospital’s maxillofacial units. She learned a great deal about managing dental pain, acute and chronic dental conditions and gained a great deal of experience in Oral Surgery. She is currently taking referrals from other practices for patients requiring oral surgery or treatment under sedation.

Jilly joined the practice as an associate in 2016. She works in general and cosmetic dentistry, and is also trained in beauty therapy. She is also qualified to provide botox and fillers treatment, so worry no more about those wrinkles and frown lines! Jilly is also qualified in sedation for those patients who may be more nervous or have a dental phobia.

Kâren has worked in the practice since 2003 and assumed the role of practice manager in April 2016. She is a highly trained, experienced dental nurse, and her professional and friendly manner makes her perfect for the role of manager.

Karen works very closely with Hazel and Colin to ensure the smooth day to day running of the practice to allow us to to provide the best care we can. She is currently on maternity leave and is looking forward to coming back later this year

Kathleen joined the practice in 2021 and took over from our retiring hygienist, Myra. She deals mostly with our private patients and those on our private care plan.

Kathleen is very motivated and likes to keep herself up to date with the latest techniques and developments in her field. She works hard to provide the best care possible for our patients, motivating them to maintain the healthiest and brightest smile she can.

Michelle recently rejoined our practice and is splitting the role of practice manager with Karen. She trained initially as a dental nurse at the practice some years ago before moving on to other fields. Luckily for us she has returned to the practice and is our friendly face at reception as well as managing the practice.

Marta has worked part time since 2019 and her friendly, happy personality has been a great addition to our team. She is very organised and is a huge asset in the surgery to try to keep the dentists organised too!
